Abstract
Pelargonium zonale hybr. cv ‘Verbesserte Rubin’ was grown under high pressure sodium lamp and metal halide lamp in growth room at 18°C and 123 μE/m2·s resp 62 μE/m2·s for the high pressure sodium lamp and 76 μE/m2·s resp 38 μE/m2·s for the metal halide lamp.
Dry weight production analysis indicate differences between different light intensities but not between lamp types.
There were no differences in number of inflorescences, shoots or leaves between plants grown under different lamp types.
Leaf temperature was affected by different light intensities but not due to lamp type.
Plants grown in growth rooms were compared with plants grown in greenhouse at the same intensities of artificial light.
