Abstract
Building-integrated greenhouses has the potential to harness synergistic effects between buildings and greenhouses.
The former can save energy through the greenhouse, while the latter can reduce cultivation energy using surplus energy from the building.
Building-integrated greenhouses is emerging as an alternative for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Certification systems for buildings are operated globally according to each country’s framework.
However, few programs evaluate building-integrated greenhouses.
This study aims to develop a certification system for agricultural spaces within buildings by analyzing existing agricultural and building-related certification systems.
Based on the analysis, two certification items were developed for application to G-SEED. In the evaluation items for creating agricultural space, the setup and management plan for the agricultural area within the building are assessed.
Resource management and conservation for agricultural spaces within buildings evaluate the use of energy, water, and waste in that area and resource conservation.
