Abstract
A five year experiment demonstrated that improvements in the cropping of several sweet cherry cvs could be achieved consistently using hormone setting sprays containing GA3, DPU and an auxin.
Surprisingly, increased floral bud numbers were recorded in some instances, despite the high level of gibberellin (200ppm) applied.
This promotion could not be ascribed either to increased vegetative growth or to differences in weather conditions; other possible causes are discussed.
