Abstract
In the years 1977, and 1979–1982 compatibility tests were carried out with cvs Körös, Meteor, Ostheim, Ottawa-391 and Tschernokorka.
The self compatible cvs Schattenmorelle and Fanal (= Heimanns Konservenweichsel) were also used as pollinators.

All cvs tested, except Meteor, were self incompatible.
Meteor may be characterised as partly self compatible.

In general Fanal was the best pollinator.
For Meteor and Ottawa-391, however, use of pollen from Tschernokorka resulted in a better fruit set.

The early flowering cvs Körös and Ostheim were also pollinated with sweet cherry pollen (cvs Merton Glory, Sam and Vic). These combinations gave a fruit set similar to the best results obtained with sour cherry pollinators.

A highly significant correlation was found between fruit set recorded in the beginning of July and fruit set in the beginning of August, shortly before harvest.
