Abstract
The maximum use of plant biological capacities contributes to the achievement of higher profitability and increasing the number of flowers produced.

It has been established practice that after the last harvesting of greenhouse roses, undeveloped buds are left on plants remaining unused.
In our study we tried to see if some potentialities exist for bringing those buds to full bloom by using a suitable nutrient solution.
On the basis of the investigations made it has been established that by opening buds on an artificial medium high-grade flowers might be produced.
They bloom in 3–6 days and last for 4–7 days.
The flowers obtained are not inferior in size and longevity to those developed on the plants themselves.
A high accumulation of dry matter, N, P, and K, as well as an increase in the phytohormonal activity of flowers was established.
It is pointed out that flowers treated with a nutrient solution have more intensive colouring and aroma, improving their ornamental qualities.
