Abstract
The use of thermal screens is a common method for energy saving in German horticulture.
Although reliable installations are principally availlable, growers have to overcome a lot of problems when they use screens.
The most essentual problems are being described and discussed as tese are:

  • ununiformity of inside temperature,

  • temperature fall or rise when the screen is opened or closed,

  • insufficient tightness especially at elder installations,

  • missing knowledge about reliability of the material.
