Abstract
In the past few people were engaged in the study of profitability of greenhouse and hotbed pepper growing but in recent years these questions are being worked out by several investigators.
Thus I. Maczák (1961) has thoroughly elaborated the factors of prime cost and the possibilities of lowering them in hotbed and greenhouse-grown peppers.
I. Fisher (1969) deals with the problems of the profitability of using hotbeds in seedling production for early pepper growing.
L. Angeli (1967) and L. Zatykó (1968) studied the impact and role of date of transplanting and methods of raising seedlings for early production of pepper in greenhouses and hotbeds.

This paper is concerned with the profitability of pepper cultivars for greenhouse and hotbed production.
