Abstract
Potato plants (Solanum tuberosum L.) were treated under field conditions with a single foliar spray application containing 0, 250, 500 or 750 ppm ethephon applied at 25, 39, or 53 days after planting.
Tuber number was decreased by treatments made 25 days after planting and increased by applications closer to natural anthesis (53 days postplant). Total weight of harvested tubers was decreased by ethephon applications.
Response varied with concentration and time of treatment.
