Abstract
Methionine and 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC) stimulated ethylene evolution in the soil.
Especially, the effect of ACC was remarkable.
However, ethylene evolved from the cationic fraction of methanol extracts from soil, which contains amino acids, was scarcely detected.
When lipids were extracted from soils, ethylene evolution from the lipid extracts was great and was related to the quality of lipids as well as their quantity.
The crude enzyme extracts from soil stimulated ethylene evolution from lipids.
In this paper, the process of ethylene evolution from lipids is discussed.
