Abstract
To avoid severe inhibition for plant growth in acclimatizing process, a new method was tried by using ultra-violet rays irradiation to plant seedlings before transplanting.
The short time irradiation of U.V.rays (23.4μw cm-2 at plant surface) to plant seedlings hastened growth in field more than 10–40 % in 12 days after irradiation.
The promotion of plant growth by irradiation was an optimum function for irradiating duration and the maximum was given at 30 minutes.
This method could be useful one in production system of plant seedlings for transplanting cultivation.
