Abstract
DYZ-1 ventilated psychrometer is made in China adapted for the microclimate research work in field, mountanous area, greenhouses and other protected field with high precision.
Its optimum design parameter is selected by computer, and specifications, as well as its application effects in the field are described in this paper.
According to calibration by the Meteorological Instrument Measuring and Testing Institute, State Meteorological Administration in China, it is shown that the standard deviation of temperature and relative humidity of the air are 0.1°C and 1%RH in the range of -25°C-50°C and 20%–100%RH. From November, 1984 to June, 1985, this instrument has stood the test of high temperature (36.9°C) and maximum humidity (99%) in the field and shown normal operation and dependable feature.
In comparison with Assmanpsychrometer in the field in three different climatic zones of Beijing (39° 51′ N, temperate zone), Nanjing (32° 00′ N, subtropical zone), Hainan Island (19° 31′ N, tropical zone), and different weather types (clear, cloudy, overcast), 2004 experiment data were been measured.
And the statistical results were shown that standard deviation of temperature and humidity were 0.23°C and 1.7%RH in the range of 5–36.9°C and 19–99%RH, including various errors (radiation, observation, etc.).

From March to November, 1986, using DYZ-1 ventilated psychrometer to measure temperature and humidity of the air for water wall protected cultivation of tomatoes, climatic chamber under natural daylight and plastic greenhouse with earth-air heat exchange system, reliable experiment data have been gained.
