Abstract
The needs of agriculture of the Counties of Attica and Boeotia and of the whole Greece in organohumic materials are estimated respectively to be 930,200, 1.297,600 and 40,416,400 tons.
The gathered production of animal manures is estimated to be 347,787, 154,697 and 10,891,732 ton respectively.
The Greek production of the other organohumic materials is 820 tons.

Greenhouse and many flower and vegetable growers satisfy the needs of their crops for organohumic materials with high cost.
The rest of the crops and especially the arable crops, cannot afford the expense of humic materials.
In the past researchers pointed out the false optimism for profitable production of composts from municipal wastes.
We agree with them in the fact that the production of compost from municipal wastes must invent mainly to secure the public health and the protection of the environment.
Many direct benefits will occur because of the supply of the agriculture with cheap humic materials.
The Greek soils are characterized generally by low content of organic matter, about 1–2.5%.
