Abstract
The relationship among aeration rate, oxygen concentration and oxygen consumption rate which indicates the composting efficiency was experimentally examined.
The effect of oxygen concentration on oxygen consumption rate was found to be expressed by Monod’s type kinetic equation.
In case of column type reactor, composting efficiency can be ensured by controlling the oxygen concentration of exhaust gas, and lower limit of aeration rate required for effective composting was proposed.
