Abstract
The paper presents a checklist of native palm species of Espírito Santo State, Brazil.
Information on environment, geographic distribution, vernacular names and phenologic state of examined material is presented.
Five species represent new citations for the State and twenty-six are endemic to the Atlantic forest.
Thirty species included in ten genera are found: Allagoptera, Astrocaryum, Lytocaryum and Polyandrococos with one species, Attalea, Desmoncus and Euterpe, two species, Geonoma and Syagrus, six species, and Bactris with eight species.
