Abstract
An experiment was carried out for the study, of different densities using the combination ‘Pera’ sweet orange on ‘Cleópatra’ mandarin at the Citrus Experimental Station of Bebedouro in 1986. The planting distances were 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 by 7 m in rows.
A randomized block design was used as an experimental statistical model consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications.
Each plot was composed of 6 plants disposed in two lines of 3 plants each.
The fruit quality was evaluated for three years based on fruit size, internal quality color, and picking time.
Based on the results, it was possible to draw some conclusions: The fruit quality differed in relation to ratio and acidity as less ratio occurred in fruits produced from trees planted in higher densities.
For juice acidity the opposite occurred, with the fruit from more density showing early maturation.
It was observed a difference in colour of the fruit, influenced by the density.
