Abstract
The production of the early table grape variety "Perlette" inside a greenhouse heated by the passive solar system, in a non-heated one, as well as in the open field, was investigated in this research work carried out in the farm of the Agricultural Research Centre of Macedonia-Thrace, in Thessaloniki.
The experimental trials were conducted in 1992 and 1993 in two 200m2 PEIR covered greenhouses and in the open field.
In each greenhouse and in the open field, fifteen vines grafted on llOR rootstock were used.
The experimental trials were conducted in 1992 and 1993 in two 200m2 PEIR covered greenhouses and in the open field.
In each greenhouse and in the open field, fifteen vines grafted on llOR rootstock were used.
From the results obtained it was found that the use of the passive solar system in the greenhouse affected significantly the earliness, total production and quality of grapes of the early cultivar "Perlette" in comparison with the non-heated greenhouse and the open field.
By the application of the passive solar system the average yield of the grapes in 1992 and 1993 in the solar greenhouse increased by 29 and by 25,75% and the earliness by 31 and by 7 days in comparison with the open field and the non-heated greenhouse, respectively.
