Abstract
Thiourea (1%) and the combination of potassium nitrate + thiourea (2% + 1%) were applied on Springtime and Sunbrite peach and Weinberger nectarine cultivars to break dormancy.
Thiourea and KNO3 + TU applications increased yield in each cultivar, however KNO3 + TU combination presented a significant difference from this point of view in Weinberger.
Both applications affected the fruit quality positively and increased fruit size.
On the other hand, KNO3 + TU application was also found as effective on the early ripening of the fruit.
