EVALUATION OF ROSE CULTIVARS TO FUNGAL DISEASES SUSCEPTIBILITY

Abstract
The occurrence of fungal diseases caused by Sphaerotheca pannosa var. rosae, Peronospora sparsa, Coniothyrium fuckelii and Botrytis cinerea was evaluated (disease index scale) on about 120 rose cultivars grown in the field.
In laboratory condition susceptibility of petals to Botrytis cinerea, leaves to Diplocarpon rosae and stems to Coniothyrium fuckelii were tested.
The cultivars differed in resistance to tested fungi.
For example, Tea Hybrids roses showed necrosis (after 14 days of incubation) ranging from 5.2 to 77.6 mm of stem length, Floribunda and Polyantha 5.4 – 85.1 mm, Miniature 0.2 – 62.9 mm and Park cultivars and species 4.0 – 42.2 mm.
