Abstract
Fruit set values obtained for cultivars Coopama, Flor Branca and Inada following the treatments "freely visited control" (FVC), "unvisited control" (UC) and "experimental with noted visits" (ENV) are significantly different (X2=117.11, P<0,001). Fruit set obtained following treatment UC (11.5%) is lower than that of treatments FVC and ENV, with fruit sets of 20.1% and 15.0%, respectively.
Wind appears to be involved in the pollination of Flor Branca.
In the Coopama and Inada cultivars, it appears cross-pollination is carried out by insects.
The pollen vectors are essentially Apoidea from the families Anthophoridae, Apidae, Bombidae, Halictidae and Meliponidae.
