Abstract
During winter 1994, 12 years old Thompson Seedless grape vines were harvested from a commercial parronal in Santiago, Chile.
Each vine was separated in aerial and root organs.
Dry weight and nitrogen content were measured in: buds, bark and wood of 1-, 2- years and the trunk, and in roots.
The average dry weight of the plants was 32 kg, with 77 % in the aerial organs.
The trunk represent 43.7% of the total plant dry weight, followed by 1 year old canes with 28%. Roots had the higher N concentration (1% to 2.4%) in the plant.
Aerial organs had lowest values, ranged between 0.85% N in buds and 0.29% N in trunk wood.
The aerial organs had 46% of the total N (g) in the plant.
One year old canes had 55.29 of N that represent 23% of total N in the vines.
