Abstract
HortResearch has the single most comprehensive ex situ collection of Actinidia Lindl. germplasm with more than 250 separate accessions of budwood and seed comprising representatives of 23 species.
There is a collection of about 80 Actinidia cultivars and named selections from both New Zealand and other countries.
The collection provides the raw material for kiwifruit breeding and improvement programs.
