Abstract
In this work an attempt is made to compare the net returns among three different flower cultivations (Roses, Gerbera, Gypsophila) in greenhouses.
Data from greenhouses in Thessaloniki were used to analyze the economics of the cultivation and to assess the longrun benefits to Greek growers.
Through the financial analysis Roses were proved as the most profitable flower cultivation yielded the highest Net Present Value in a life span of ten years.
Furthermore, sensitivity analysis was used to cast the variations of the Net Present Value due to changes in the magnitude of price and discount rate.
Results could clearly indicate the necessity of a financial analysis in floriculture enterprise in order to determine the best cultivation strategy.
