Abstract
L. latifolium, L. dumosum, L. tatarica, L. otolepis and L. gmelinii are known for their interesting ornamental potentiality.
In the seed population, which displays a wide variability, superior genotypes for different ornamental traits can be selected.
The ornamental value of these plants could easily be increased by the establishment of fast and productive protocols of vegetative propagation.
Regeneration potential was investigated with leaf fragments of micropropagated clones and immature inflorescence of greenhouse grown plants.
Leaf fragments were treated with several concentration of 2 iP and the inflorescence were surface sterilised and laid onto several substrates containing BA or 2 iP or zeatin with the aim to induce shoot neoformation.
After 60 days the percentage and the efficiency of regeneration were evaluated and the neoformed shoots were collected and transferred in a medium lacking in growth regulators for elongation and rooting.
The whole plantlets achieved were then transferred to soil to evaluate the phenotypic homogeneity.
