SIDE EFFECTS OF SOME FUNGICIDES ON THE POPULATION OF KAMPIMODROMUS ABERRANS (OUDEMANS) AND EUSEIUS FINLANDICUS (OUDEMANS) (PARASITIFORMES, PHYTOSEIIDAE) ON GRAPEVINES IN CAMPANIA (SOUTH ITALY)

In 2003 and 2004 experimental trials were carried out in a vineyard of the Avellino province.
The vineyard was located at 350 m above the sea level and the experiment tested the impact of some fungicides on phytoseiid mites.
The trials also examined the efficacy of the molecules in restricting the diffusion of powdery mildew and downy mildew.
Each test was effected by using different fungicidal mixtures with the exception of the untreated plot sprayed with water.
A plot with phosphoric ester was added in order to have a toxic one for Phytoseiid mites to make the statistic analysis.
All results were statistically analysed comparing them with Duncan’s test (P=0.05).
Phytoseiid mite species found were Kampimodromus aberrans (Oudemans) and Euseius finlandicus (Oudemans).
As regards fungicides against powdery mildew the most selective plot is the one treated with Dinocap+Quinoxyfen while as regards fungicides against downy mildew the most selective plots were those treated with Cu-Oxychloride and Zoxamide + Cu-Oxychloride.
