Abstract
Two types of moisture ratio sensors (ECH2O-5, ECH2O-10, Decagon Device, Inc., USA) measuring dielectric constant of materials were used to investigate on various growth media of orchids including 3 sizes of bark (Orchiata, Besgrow, NZ) and 3 sources (New Zealand, Chile and China) of sphagnum moss.
Besides the development of converting equations in need, sensitivity of sensors under different electrical conductivity (EC) values of nutrient solution, different compactness of pot filling, different water holding capacity of media and pre-submerge treatment of barks before use were investigated.
