Abstract
To study saffron yield changes, four locations, including Birjand, Khusf, Gazik and Mahmoei were selected as the main saffron producing areas in Southern Khorasan, Iran.
Rainfall, temperature and relative moisture factors in the province area and also Agronomic Effective Factors and Plant Effective Indices were analysed from 80 saffron farms, aged between 1 and 5 years.
Then, using mathematical equations taken of above factors with yield and with the use of GIS, saffron yield potential maps were provided.
Results showed the highest actual yield was for Mahmoei which is an indication of better farm management in comparison with other areas.
