Abstract
To define optimal permeability of a composite wheat gluten-paper material for a new packaging film, elaborated in the Tailorpack project, physiological parameters modelling was conducted on two contrasted apricot cultivars (Ravicille and Bergeron). Effects of temperature on respiration and ethylene production have been monitored and Q10 were estimated at picking time and during postharvest storage. Ravicille presented higher respiration and ethylene production rates, at all analysed temperatures, than Bergeron, while Q10 values were more or less similar.
For both cultivars, Q10 increased with storage time.
This result, added to the variability between cultivars, will have major impact on film conception.
