Abstract
The phytosanitary measures in Switzerland concerning fireblight are discussed.
The import of any host plant material is prohibited.
Exceptionally imported scions or rootstocks must remain in quarantine for two years.
An inspection service for export nurseries has been setup.
Suspected plants are tested at a diagnosis services station.
The weather conditions for infections in several Swiss regions have been examined.
Specific Swiss apple and pear varieties are included in a susceptibility test being done at the Biologische Bundesanstalt, Heikendorf/Kiel, FRG.
