Abstract
Outbreaks of fireblight in The Netherlands from 1971–1978 were examined using a system of weather analysis developed for south-east England.
Examples show how the system offers explanations for fluctuations in disease incidence or severity in different hosts and different areas in The Netherlands.
Further tests are needed to determine its precision and its predictive value.
