Agroclimatic adaptation of pistachio cultivars ‘Golden Hills’, ‘Kerman’ and ‘Sirora’ to rainfed conditions, and their productive efficiency in relation to the ‘UCB1’ and Pistacia terebinthus rootstocks

Abstract
This study is based on the comparison of productive efficiency and nut quality parameters, of three female pistachio cultivars: ‘Kerman’, ‘Golden Hills’ and ‘Sirora’, in relation to the two main rootstocks used currently in Spain, UCB1 and Pistacia terebinthus. The experiment was carried out in strict rainfed conditions, typical of the interior of the Iberian Peninsula.
Data have been collected during four years and the tree age was between 7 and 10 years.
It has been studied the influence of cultivar and rootstock under rainfed conditions on yield and commercial quality of the nuts: split percentage, blanks, size/weight and presence of the third finger.
