Responses of some Aegean local tomato genotypes to water deficit under greenhouse in soilless culture

The negative impact of abiotic stress factors due to climate change on horticulture has increased.
Tomatoes are one of the most important vegetables worldwide.
However, abiotic stresses affect the production during any growing period, resulting in yield loss.
This problem may be tackled by selecting or developing of stress-adapted genotypes by exploring and exploiting existing genetic variability.
In this study, different genotypes provided from Greece (‘1770’, ‘2150’) and Türkiye (‘TR40430’, ‘TR43236’, ‘TR40394’), and a hybrid cultivar (‘Moneymaker’) were tested in a greenhouse soilless culture under full irrigation and 70% deficit.
Data on biomass, yield, and fruit quality parameters were obtained during the experiment and subjected to variance analysis and GT biplot analysis.
Correlation between traits, association and grouping of genotypes with traits, ranking of genotypes according to traits, and response of genotypes under different conditions were visualized with other graphs.
As a result, the genotypes stood out regarding their distinct characteristics.
