METHODS OF CO₂ ENRICHMENT IN THE NETHERLANDS

On the poster the possibilities will be presented on how CO₂ enrichment can be obtained throughout the growing season in the Netherlands.

The costs of these possibilities will also be given.
Three systems are distinguished.

• a heater of which the flue gases are the only source of CO₂ enrichment, supplemented with an insulated water storage tank (four alternatives).

• a supplemental heater from which the heat is not utilized, but is dispensed into the open air, and the CO₂ is transported into the greenhouse.
  This heater works only after the central heater has stopped at a chosen temperature set point.

• pure CO₂ is given after the central heater has stopped at a chosen temperature set point.

Further the costs of a recently developed method, in which two burners are installed into one central heater are compared with the costs of two other methods when the heat is dispensed into the open air.
