Abstract
A growing medium for peat bags based on a fertilized mixture of peat, vermiculite and perlite has been formulated and a fertilizer schedule to suit that medium has been developed thus providing a complete home-made peat bag system (named "Harrow") for greenhouse tomato cropping.
The productive capacity of the "Harrow" system has been tested over three spring and three fall seasons and found to be as good as that of the conventional soil production method and as good or better than that of other peat bag systems developed elsewhere.
A complete description of the "Harrow" peat bag system for greenhouse tomato cropping is given along with the yield results of the three-year investigation.
