Abstract
This paper associates with apricot germplasm relating to the ecogeographical groups and sub-groups; the aim of breeding and selection programmes of apricot cultivars and rootstocks; parent cultivars and desirable and possible combinations to create new apricot cultivars for different purpose and rootstocks, also information on resistance to frost and diseases is given, as well as on major apricot and rootstock genotypes in the important apricot countries and on relations between the apricot/stocks and their adaptation to climate and soil conditions.
