Abstract
In Australia, apricot production is not a large industry when compared with other deciduous fruit such as apples, pears or peaches.
The value of total deciduous tree fruit production is estimated at A$320m.
Of this amount the value of apricots is A$24m (7.5%) (ABS, 1986). In relation to world production of some 1.5m tonne the Australian production of about 30,000 tonne is 2% (FAO, 1982).
