Abstract
Rooted plantlets may be regenerated by in vitro micropropagation of Alnus species.
Shoots were multiplied on WPM with glucose (15 gl-1), BAP (1–2.5 μM), IBA (0.25–1μM) and L. citrulline (1.66 mM), concentrations were depending on the species tried.
For A. incana MS medium was better than WPM. Rhizogenesis was in vitro induced by IBA (0.5–1.0μM). Tried Alnus species were : A. cordata, A. hirsuta, A. incana, A. inokumae, A. nepalensis, A. rubra, A. subcordata and A. viridis.
