Abstract
We observed the influence of three concentrations of DNBP plus mineral oil and two methods of application of flowering, leafing and tree fruit production of the cv.
Melly Jonathan at the Experiment Station of Pillaro State of Tungurahua.

The experimental trial followed a complete randomized block design with five replications.
The experimental unit was a tree, using a total of thirty-five trees.
The treatments were as follows:

  1. 1 000 ppm of DNBP plus 3% of spray oil, one application (D1A1);

  2. 1 000 ppm of DNBP plus 3% of spray oil, two applications (D1A2);

  3. 2 000 ppm of DNBP plus 3% of spray oil, one application (D2A1);

  4. 2 000 ppm of DNBP plus 3% of spray oil, two applications (D2A2);

  5. 3 000 ppm of DNBP plus 3% of spray oil, one application (D3A1);

  6. 3 000 ppm of DNBP plus 3% of spray oil, two applications (D3A2);

  7. 0 ppm of DNBP plus 0% of spray oil (control).

The experiment started in July 1981. Trees were sprayed about three weeks before flowering.
The first treatment consisted of two applications.
The second application was done 20 days after the first.
The following aspects were studied: climatic dates, flowering, fruit set, harvest dates, number of flowers and length of blooming period, and lateral and terminal bud break.

We came to the conclusion that all treatments with DNBP plus mineral oil are superior to the control, but within them there are no significant differences.
The final conclusion is that the best treatment was DNBP 1 000 ppm + mineral oil 3%. The treatments with single application were superior to those with two applications.
In general all the treatments with DNBP produced a good flowering in a short time and also the number of flowers and the production were superior.
