Abstract
In agriculture in the Netherlands a considerable amount of (heavy) physical work is still done by hand.
This causes many complaints of the locomoter system, especially in the long term.
Therefore there is a great need for a system to assess and quantify working postures and their effects.

For this purpose several methods have been developed, but the OWAS system seems to be the most suitable.
It does not require complicated equipment, its implementation requires a minimum of instruction and it is applied easily.
Besides, conclusions can be drawn from simple figures.
