Abstract
Saprophytic Fusarium strains, isolated from Fusarium-suppressive soils, introduced into steamed soil reduced not only the spread of Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. dianthi from a few already infected carnation plants, but also the severity of the disease in the case of heavily infested soil.
The activity shown by isolates of the antagonists resistant to benzimidazoles was improved by combining chemical (benomyl, 20 g/m2) with biological measures.
From an economical point of view dipping rooted cuttings in a conidial suspension of the antagonists gave the most interesting results.
