Abstract
The cultures were set up in June 1984, from one-year old virus free trees cv.
Schattenmorelle.
The apical part (about 1 mm) of actively growing shoots were established and afterwards multiplicated on Murashige-Skoog medium, supplemented with BA 1 mg/l, NAA 0.1 mg/l and GA3 0.1 mg/l.
Rhizogenesis took place on MS medium, containing inorganic salts at one-half strength and ammonium salt of IBA 2 mg/l.
Recently, micropropagation technique is modified, to improve the efficiency of this method.

Rooted plants were transferred from glass tubes to the pots and late autumn 1984, they were transplanted to the nursery.
Early spring 1986 the trees were planted to the orchard.

As a result of severe winter 1986/1987, first blooming expected to be at spring 1987 was not observed.
However, deep frost did not injure vegetative buds and branches.
The trees were blooming plentifully in 1988 and also 1989. All observed trees are true-to-tpye.

Intensity of growth is determined on the base of diameter of trunks and length of branches.
