Abstract
Sand culture experiment was conducted to differentiate between 41 cvs. of tomato in their salt tolerance when treated with NaCl at concentrations of 250 and 400 meg/l.
At the end of the observation period, health rating was greatest with cvs: Floradade, UC 97–3 and Super Marmande and least with cvs: Loteria, Pirate, NS 213 and Kino, for both concentrations used.
The results strongly suggested that the use of a concentration of 400 meg/l NaCl is of great importance for examining the plant tolerance as it a time saving method.
