Abstract
The most important flower bulb exported from Turkey is Galanthus sp.
Both environmental conservation and exportation of wild Galanthus were studied in relation to Galanthus cultivation.
To have success in the cultivation of Galanthus, studies were done to determine some soil properties of natural growing areas.
Soil analyses of these areas showed that soils are generally light-medium textured, rich in organic matter, have little or no lime, low or neutral pH, are saltless and sufficient in macronutrients such as N, P, K. It is concluded that the properties of Galanthus-cultivated soils and the soils of natural growing areas are quite similar to each other.
