Abstract
Nuclear DNA content per cell was determined in mature leaves and root tips of Chelidonium majus L. and of Eschscholtzia spp. (Papaveraceae) by means of static cytofluorimetry using 4’–6-diamidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI) as DNA specific fluorochrome.
Ploidy levels were determined in presence of chicken red blood cell as internal standard.
The 2C of C.majus is 3.5 pg of DNA / nucleous and the 2C values of Eschscholtzia spp. are 2.3 – 2.5 pg of DNA / nucleous.
