Abstract
Plants which produced 3,4,5,6 or 7 fruits on different branches were studied in order to evaluate the effect of fruit characteristics on seed yield and quality.
Percentage of germination and seed viability were influenced by the position of the fruit on the mother plant.
Fruit wich developed on lateral branches close to the main stem had a better nutrient regime, larger size and a higher number of good quality seeds compared to those fruits set on lateral branches far from the main stem.
