Abstract
This note reports on the results of a climatic chamber trial aimed at testing the influence of salinity on seed germination in the following vegetable crops: chicory, tomato, bean, egg-plant, spinach and cow-pea.
The results obtained show that the salinity threshold beyond which significant germinability reductions were observed, ranged from 6 to 16 dS m-1, with bean and egg-plant as the most sensitive, and chicory and spinach as the most resistant.
