Abstract
Sago palm grows in marginal land around paddy area, along the river or in swampy coastal area.

Annually 65 sago trees per-hectare are harvested, with the average of starch yield of 55 kg sago starch per tree or 3,575 kg per-hectare.
The range of starch yield in the trunk was 8.5% to 11.4%.

The range of starch yield in the trunk was 8.5% to 11.4%.
The results indicated that productivity of sago palm in West Java was lower than those of other sago areas in Indonesia, such as Maluku, Irian Jaya and Riau.
That was as an effect of the utilization of sago leaf; the leaves were used as materials for housing roof and sago was cultivated also to produce leaves.
Therefore, the leaves were cut as many as possible and the trees grown with only 3 or 4 leaves.
