Abstract
The aim of these experiments were to know how far artificial fertilizer could accelerate sago pith residue to be a green manure.

The treatments on Experiment 1 were soil only as media (MO); soil: sago pith residue = 2:1 (m1); soil:chicken dung = 2:1 (M2); soil:sago pith residue:chicken dung = 4:1:1 (m3). These treatments were combined with fertilizer.
Fertilizer treatments were without fertilizer (PO), 1 g Urea + 1 g TSP (P1); 2 g Urea + 1 g TSP (P2); 3 g Urea + 3 g TSP (P3) and 4 g Urea + 4 g TSP (P4). Experiment 2 consisted of media (sago pith residue in soil) and fertilizer levels.
Media consisted of 0% (MO); 25% (M1); 50% (M2) and 75% (M3) sago pith residue concentration in the soil.
The fertilizer treatments were O (PO); 1 (P1); and 2 (P2); and 3 (P3) times of fertilizer recommendations.
Experiment 3. Consisted of sago pith residue supplemented to soil media and sago pith residue decomposition duration.
The first treatments were 0 kg (D0); 1 kg (D1); 2 kg (D2) and 3 kg (D3) and the second treatments were 1 month (L1); 1, 5 months (L2) and 2 months (L3).

The results of these experiments suggested that the maturation of 2 months decomposition still not enough for crops, because (C/N ratio still high, so it will not be good for crops, but if it is supplemented with artificial fertilizer or with soil, it could be used as a green manure for crops.
