Abstract
With the objective of obtaining information about the physiological quality seeds of jaboticaba (Myrciaria cauliflora Berg.) were evaluated seeds originated from the microregions of Curimataú, Brejo Paraibano and Campina Grande at Paraíba State in 1996. The physiological quality was evaluated by germination and vigour tests (first counting, and radical and epicotyl length) on rolls of germitest paper towels at 25°C, in Seed Analysis Laboratory at Federal Paraíba University.
Jaboticaba seeds from the microregion of Campina Grande presented the highest germination percentage (42,74%), the highest germination percentage on first counting (41,41%), the highest epicotyl length (4,27 cm). The smallest germination percentage and the smallest epicotyl length were verified in seeds from Brejo Paraíbano and Curimataú.
