A NOVEL MIXTURE OF GIBBERELLINS CAN REPLACE BOTH GA₃ AND CPPU ON THOMPSON SEEDLESS GRAPES.

Production of seedless table grapes includes application of gibberellic acid (GA₃) to attain adequate berry growth and quality.
Additional berry size increases can be obtained with CPPU. In this experiment, a novel compound consisting of a mixture of different gibberellins (GAs) was tested along with GA₃ and CPPU applications.
GAs-treatment alone determined a significant increase in berry size and bunch weight as compared with GA₃-treatment.
Inclusion of CPPU resulted in an additional increase in berry growth when added both to GA₃ and GAs, with a reduction in berry drop.
Increases in berry growth resulted in retarded soluble solids accumulation and later harvest.
Further quality factors and possible usage regarding this new bioregulator are discussed.
