Abstract
Xichu is one of the persimmon cultivars grown in the highland areas of northern Thailand.
Its fruit texture and taste is acceptable to the Thai market, however the fruit size is rather small compared to the imported persimmon fruits.
An attempt to increase fruit size by using gibberellic acid, Goemar BM 86 (seaweed extract) and shoot girdling was studied.
The results showed that both chemical treatments and girdling seemed to have no effects on increasing fruit size and fruit quality except fruit firmness.
